What Are The Effects Of Duplicate Aliases?


You should avoid duplicate aliases as they prevent proper crediting of transactions to users or teams.

Duplicate user aliases are problematic in the following scenario:
  • A transaction refers to the duplicate user alias in a field mapped as a "credit to" field
  • You have a plan measuring performance by individual

When processing the transaction, the crediting engine will not know which user should be credited for the transaction due to the duplicate. A system alert will be generated to let you know about this issue.

Duplicate team aliases are problematic in the following scenario:
  • A transaction refers to the duplicate team alias in a field mapped as a "territory / team" field
  • You have a plan measuring performance by team / territory

When processing the transaction, the crediting engine will not know which team should be credited for the transaction due to the duplicate. A system alert will be generated to let you know about this issue.
