Best Practice - Define A Baseline Plan Attainment Level

When defining a sales incentive plan's rewards, we recommend you always include a baseline attainment level:
  • If using raw values, add an attainment level with a threshold value of 0
  • If using competitive ranking, add an attainment level with a threshold value of <high rank>
  • If using % increase, add an attainment level with a threshold value of <low % increase>

You can then associate rewards to this baseline attainment level - such as "No Rewards", "Email", or "Announcement".

The benefit of this approach is that it improves reporting, and your ability to be alerted (ex: via email) of under-performance.

In addition, defining a baseline attainment level helps users view their current attainment before rewards are earned (learn more here).

You can use the "Trivial" difficulty level to identify your baseline attainment level.
