Warning - You Will Need To Provide Tax-Related Information For Products In Sales Cookie


Applicability
This warning applies to the following situation:
  • You are importing transactions
  • You want to create sales incentive plans which:
    • Calculate taxes
    • Remove taxes from calculated amounts (ex: revenue, profit) to avoid over-payment of commissions

Impact
This warning informs you that you may need to provide per-product sales price information in the catalog (under Settings) in order for us to calculate taxes.

Explanations
For example, consider the following scenario:
  • Your imported transactions do NOT include tax information
  • Your imported transactions do include revenue and a product name
  • You have indicated during mapping that revenue does include taxes

In this case, we can calculate taxes, but only if you provide a tax percentages for different products in the product catalog.

Resolution
You can ignore this warning and provide % tax information in the product catalog (ahead of time, or when requested via system alerts).

Or you could modify imported transaction data to contain one of the following:
  • Total tax amount for each transaction
  • Tax percentage for each transaction
