What Is The Difference Between Flat And Per-Transaction Rewards?

In Sales Cookie, there are two main types of rewards:
  1. Per-transaction rewards
    1. Those rewards are attached to specific transactions.
    2. Example: payee "John Doe" received a commission worth $1.23 on deal "Globex Corporation".
  2. Global (flat amount) rewards
    1. Those rewards are disconnected from specific transactions.
    2. Example: payee "John Doe" received a bonus of $5000 for selling over $100,000 in January.
When rewards are associated with specific transactions, use per-transaction rewardsThis allows your payees to understand how much they earned on each deal. This also makes it possible to claw back specific commission amounts on refund.

When rewards are associated with overall attainment, use global rewardsFor example, if a rep earns a $5,000 bonus for selling over $100,000 in a month, this $5,000 bonus probably should not be divided on a per-transaction basis as this would be meaningless. The same rule applies if the reward is non-divisible (ex: prize, badge).
