What Does The "Credit Date" Represent?

The "Credit Date" field tells you the effective date which allowed the transaction to fall within calculation period.

When running a calculation for a given time period, we must determine which transactions are eligible based on their dates.

In some cases, each transaction may have multiple date fields, such as:
  • Create Date
  • Closed Date
  • Payment Date
  • Etc.

On transaction import, you can map one date field to the "Transaction Date" system category.  This date field will be used as the default effective date for all plans.

However, you may have plans which need to use specific effective date fields, such as:
  • SDR plan - use create dates (to determine when appointments were created)
  • VP plan - use closed dates (to determine when opportunities were closed)
  • AE plan - use payment dates (to determine when invoices were paid)

When calculating commissions for a given plan and period (ex: Jan 1 to Jan 15), we have to determine which transactions are eligible based on their dates. The "Credit Date" represents the effective date value which allowed the transaction to fall within the calculation period. For example, if you configured your SDR plan to use create dates, "Credit Date" values will be created dates. If you configured your VP plan to use closed dates, "Credit Date" values will be closed dates.

Please note:
  • If you only have one date field, the "Credit Date" and "Transaction Date" will be the equal.
  • You can choose which dates to show on incentive dashboards.
