How Can I Duplicate A Transaction?

How Can I Duplicate A Transaction?

In most cases, you should update your source data (ex: CRM system, accounting system, CSV file, etc.) to include missing records. However, in some rare cases, you may need to add another transaction within Sales Cookie only.

To do this:
  1. Select "Transactions > All Transactions"
  2. Locate the transaction you want to duplicate
    1. Ex: specify a filtering criteria
    2. This transaction will be used as a template
  3. Hover over the calculation row
    1. This will reveal a contextual menu
  4. Click on the menu
    1. Click on "Duplicate"

This will duplicate the selected transaction and open the transaction editor. After making all necessary adjustments, make sure to click on "Save" to create the duplicate.

Unique IDs
Each transaction record should have a unique ID (ex: CRM ID, order ID, etc.). If you duplicate a transaction and save it without making any changes to it, an error will be displayed because this new cloned transaction has the same unique ID as the original. If you mapped a field to "Unique ID" category, simply change the value to be unique. Otherwise, change those fields which were used to generate a composite unique ID (advanced).
