Configuration Experiment #C1
Goal
The goal of this experiment is to help you understand how configuration changes impact crediting. For this challenge, you will use a demo workspace and alter the configuration. When asked to write down something, please copy the value to a document (along with the step #), as you will be using those values later on.

Steps
- Create a demo workspace
- Go to Calculations > All Calculations
- Open the calculation
- Go to the Alerts tab
- How many warnings do you see?
- Go to the Credits tab
- Write down how many transactions were credited to "Daniel Martinez"
- Click on "Daniel Martinez" to view credited transactions
- Click on any transaction to edit it
- Write down the transaction's URL
- Change the "Sold By" from "danielmartinez@example.com" to "Hello"
- What do you think this will do?
- Save and select "Allow Overwrites"
- Go to Calculations > All Calculations
- Re-run the calculation (with delete)
- Open the calculation
- Go to the Alerts tab
- How many warnings do you see?
- What does the warning mean?
- Go to the Credits tab
- Write down how many transactions were credited to "Daniel Martinez"
- Is the new total different from your previous one?
- Go to Plans > All Plans
- Edit plan "One-Off Sales Contest"
- Go to the Targets tab
- Choose "If No Users Match" = "Silently Skip The Transaction"
- What do you think this will do?
- Save plan changes
- Go to Calculations > All Calculations
- Re-run the calculation (with delete)
- Open the calculation
- Go to the Alerts tab
- How many warnings do you see?
- Why is the warning gone?
- Go to the Credits tab
- Write down how many transactions were credited to "Daniel Martinez"
- Is the new total different from your previous one?
- Go to Plans > All Plans
- Edit plan "One-Off Sales Contest"
- Go to the Targets tab
- Choose "If No Users Match" = "Always Create A System Alert And Continue"
- Enter a crediting formula
- What do you think this will do?
- Save plan changes
- Go to Calculations > All Calculations
- Re-run the calculation (with delete)
- Open the calculation
- Go to the Alerts tab
- How many warnings do you see?
- Why is the warning gone?
- Write down how many transactions were credited to "Daniel Martinez"
- Is the new total different from your previous one?
- Copy/paste the transaction URL into your browser
- Click on the "Credits" tab
- Did you expect to see the displayed value?
- Go to Plans > All Plans
- Edit plan "One-Off Sales Contest"
- Go to the Targets tab
- Enter a crediting formula (note the ";" separator below)
- What do you think this will do?
- Save plan changes
- Go to Calculations > All Calculations
- Re-run the calculation (with delete)
- Open the calculation
- Go to the Alerts tab
- How many warnings do you see?
- What do the warnings mean?
- Go to the Credits tab
- Write down how many transactions were credited to "Daniel Martinez"
- Is the new total different from your previous one?
- How do you explain that other users are no longer credited?
- Go to Plans > All Plans
- Edit plan "One-Off Sales Contest"
- Go to the Targets tab
- Choose "If Multiple Users Match" = "Assign Full Credits To All Users"
- What do you think this will do?
- Save plan changes
- Go to Calculations > All Calculations
- Re-run the calculation (with delete)
- Open the calculation
- Go to the Alerts tab
- How many warnings do you see?
- Go to the Credits tab
- Write down how many transactions were credited to "Daniel Martinez"
- Is the new total different from your previous one?

- You can control when crediting alerts should be generated
- You can specify a dynamic crediting formula to control crediting
- You can enable multiple users to be credited on the same transaction
